When: Jan 21-Feb 25, 10am-12pm, (6 wks)
Location: 400 Roberson St, Carrboro, NC 27510
Description: This class for ages 18+ will focus on crafting and performing short true personal stories, like the Moth or Monti. We will use prompts to generate ideas which will then be refined through feedback and collaboration. Basic principles of storytelling as a craft will be taught, but most of the learning will be through practice as well as listening to the stories of your peers. This class is for anyone who has a story to tell, who wants to be more comfortable speaking in front of an audience, or who wants to dip their toes into the storytelling world. All levels are welcomed, and especially beginners. This class will end with a final performance where all storytellers are welcome, but not required, to perform in front of a friendly audience.
This class will be co-taught by Hope Wilder and Julia F. Green, who will each lead half the classes.
